Our Story

Growing a Life We Love- Where Our Farm Began

Hammered Inn Farm began in 2010 when we traded city life for three acres in Earlysville, growing from a simple family garden into a small homestead known for its peppers, handmade sauce, seasonal starts, and evolving offerings over the years. Our story is rooted in learning by doing, caring for the land, and sharing what we grow with our community.

Experience the craft, care, and heat behind every pepper we grow.

Growing superhot peppers from seed to pod takes patience, precision, and a whole lot of care, and our farm brings that process to life with more than 20 unique pepper varieties—each with its own flavor profile and Scoville heat rating. From greenhouse seedlings to harvest‑ready pods, every pepper is hand‑tended with intention. And starting in 2026, you can enjoy our heat year‑round with a full line of dried pepper offerings.

Our Farm Practices

We focus on practical, sustainable farm practices that support healthy soil, strong plants, and a balanced landscape. By allowing select plants to flower, we create natural forage for beneficial insects that help protect our crops without relying on heavy intervention. For every new season, we source our seeds from High Mowing Organic Seeds and reputable pepper‑seed vendors, choosing varieties that are regionally adapted, resilient, and known for exceptional flavor and performance. Supporting responsible seed growers strengthens our farm, connects us to a more sustainable food system, and ensures we’re cultivating plants that thrive in our climate.
